Debut Album! Keep On Smilin'

Hi, my name is Randall (Aufdem-Brinke), and I’d like to thank you for taking the time to look at our website. This album has taken about five years to complete, and would not have happened at all had it not been for the generosity of so many of my musician friends. I say generosity because not one of these musicians asked or took any payment for their work. This album is a monument to love between friends and how we can get anything done when we work together. This is a collection of almost all of the songs I have written over the last forty years. That being said, I’m not a prolific writer but I hope you enjoy the songs. Each song has a story behind it and I will explain those stories in another section of the website. I have tried many times over the years to get these songs recorded, but life has a way of getting in the way. Besides, it wasn't until I was completely single that I could spend the money required to get it done. I hope you enjoy the music and please tell your friends.

Contributing Artists
Dave & Lorrie Eveland
I have known Dave and Lorrie for over 30 years and in that time they have become two of my best friends ever and thankfully they are both extremely talented musicians. When I first met Dave he was not the best bass player in the world, but he has become one of the best bass players I have ever known. He plays completely by ear and man! what an ear. The guy has become amazing at what he can do playin’ that bass. The work he has done on this album is a testament to his talent. Lorrie has been singing back-up and lead vocals in the bands we have been in together for years. She is a great singer and a wonderful person, also (don't tell her I said that). Her work on the background vocals on this album were wonderful and I will never forget our practice sessions. I don't think I have ever laughed so hard in my life. These two people are more like family than just friends.
Bass & Vocals
Luke Carrington
Luke is the youngest of the group. I have known Luke for about ten years and he has been a godsend! If you know anything about bands you will know that finding a drummer that can play - and will stick around - can be almost impossible. And this boy can sing. That almost never happens. Luke may be the latest addition to our band but he has helped take our sound to a new level. Besides being a great drummer he is not a bad guy.
Drums
Sounds from the Attic
All the folks above and myself are members of the band “Sounds From the Attic”. We play classic rock and original music. We play locally at bars and private parties. And mostly do it to have a good time. I can’t put into words how thankful I am to have these people in my life. They are without a doubt the best part of my life.
Tess McManus
Tess is an amazing person. She has been a DJ, played in bands professionally, and raised her two children by herself. She is very talented and has taught me a lot about music. Tess was an original member of “Sounds from the attic” but had to retire after eight years playing together. Tess was kind enough to help with background vocals on this album. She is a good friend who I have the greatest respect for.
Lead Guitar & Vocals
CD Scott
CD was one of the first people I met when I moved to the Ozarks. Not long after we met, we formed “The Muddles”. There have been many folks working with us as The Muddles over the years, but CD and I were the main Muddles. CD is a talented lead guitarist and has a wonderful voice. We have worked construction and played music together for most of the past 32 years. CD is also a talented songwriter but, like me, not the most prolific. CD and his lovely wife Mary , just like Dave and Lorrie, are more like family than just friends. I am grateful to have them in my life.
Lead Guitar & Vocals
Kent & Becky Coffee
Kent and Becky Coffee are nothing less than a power couple. What I mean is they can do it all musically. Kent is without any doubt the best guitar player I have ever met. He can do it all. Play lead, rhythm, in almost every style you can think of. Becky is a fantastic singer and plays the upright bass as if it's part of her arms. Together they make wonderful music, no matter who they might be playing with. They play out all the time and all over the country - they are in high demand because of their extreme talent. I feel so grateful and privileged that they were willing to help with this album. They are two generous and sweet people. I am glad to call friends.

Steve Keuther
Steve is the engineer, producer, and keyboard player on this album and perhaps hundreds more. He is a lifetime professional musician, and has played music in the US marching band, various duos, trios and bands, as well as performing solo and creating jingles and commercials for radio and TV. Steve now mostly works in his studio, or sometimes plays out with Becky and Kent Coffee, who also contributed to this album.
I have attempted dozens of times in my life to get this album done, and I do believe it was providence that it never happened until now. I honestly believe that this time and place is where it was supposed to happen. Meeting these wonderful musicians and having a great studio with an exceptional engineer, in my neighborhood, can only mean that now was the time. I know that this album would not be nearly as good as it is had it not been for Steve's contributions. He has an exceptional ear for the smallest details, and he really excelled on this project. I thank all of the musicians who helped on this album, but it would not have happened if not for Steve Kuether.
Engineer, Producer and Keyboards
Paula Keuther
Paula is Steve's wife, who just so happens to play Indian flute, and plays it exceptionally well. After recording (Indian) Moondance, Steve mentioned his wife played flute and thought that Paula could add that something special to the song. Boy was he right. The work that Paula did on Moondance was exactly what the song needed to take it to the next level. I thank her from the bottom of my heart for her contribution. Paula is one of those people you meet in life who thinks of others before herself. She started and runs a retreat for people dealing with life altering diseases, she is one of life’s heroes and we all thank her for that.

Terry & Krisi Arnold
Terry is ‘the computer guy” or at least the only one I know. Terry and Krisi are the folks that have designed and built this web site. Without their help it would never have happened. I am a computer idiot…ask anyone who knows me, they will confirm that to be a fact. Terry’s patience with me is unending. It has to be… I don't know what he is talking about most of the time. I wish to thank them for all their hard work. As I have said in other bios on this site, Terry and Krisi are more like family than just friends, and I love them with all my heart.
